BOULDER, Colo. (Aug. 21, 2008) —Earth Balance®, a line of all-natural healthy buttery spreads, shortenings, nut butters, and cream cheeses, announced today that Loblaws, Canada’s premier grocery store, is now offering two bilingually packaged Earth Balance® products in 230 of its stores across Canada. The new Earth Balance® products include the Original Buttery Spread and the Mediterranean Spread.

Despite evidence to the contrary, the meat and dairy industries continue to barrage the world with propaganda touting their benefits. We asked our members what reasons these groups could have (aside from self-preservation) for continuing to promote death on a plate. While the answers many not surprise you they certainly provide food for thought.

My whole life, my big mouth has gotten me into trouble. Whether it was talking back to my teachers, dropping F-bombs on my older sister, or just "being fresh" to my parents—I always had a problem with authority. Looking back, I can see that most of the time, I was just being a wiseass. But I can also recognize that questioning authority made me who I am today. And I can't help but laugh that I've managed to turn my penchant for swearing into something positive.

It’s like chocolate and beer. They both may have their place but they don’t mix well at the dinner table. Having meat-eaters for friends is common for most vegetarians and vegans. Considering that we’re in the minority in the world (though growing in number every day) its a rare vegetarian or vegan who is surrounded exclusively by like-minded friends.
