Mothering babies in need supercedes some of the most common predatory instincts, or so it seems in an article published by CBS in May of this year. Lily, a mix of Labrador and something, was rescued while wandering along an old farm
road. She was pregnant and soon had six puppies who all got adopted. Lily did well at the shelter then the kittens showed up ... without a mother.
Shelter workers struggled to bottle-feed all of the kittens until they had an idea. That's when Lily the Labrador "had some kittens for lunch ... and breakfast and dinner too."
Check out this touching video of Lily and the kittens.
